Job Title: Planning Manager

Location: Stourport-on-Severn

Role Overview

A manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Planning Manager to lead and develop planning activities across production and supply chain functions. The role is responsible for ensuring effective demand planning, production scheduling, and resource alignment to meet customer requirements and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, manage, and develop the planning function, ensuring robust processes and clear accountability.

Own and maintain demand and production planning processes to support on-time delivery and operational efficiency.

Translate customer demand and forecasts into achievable production and capacity plans.

Collaborate closely with production, procurement, logistics, and senior leadership teams.

Monitor planning performance, KPIs, and service levels, driving corrective actions where required.

Manage inventory levels to balance availability, working capital, and stock risk.

Identify risks to supply or delivery and implement mitigation strategies.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives across planning, scheduling, and supply chain operations.

Support S&OP or equivalent cross-functional planning processes.

Skills and Experience

Proven experience in a Planning Manager, Supply Chain Manager, or senior planning role within a manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and planning methodologies.

Experience leading teams and influencing cross-functional stakeholders.

Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to operate at all organisational levels.

Advanced Excel and planning tool capability.

Qualifications

Degree or equivalent qualification in supply chain, manufacturing, engineering, or a related discipline is desirable.

Professional supply chain qualifications are advantageous.
