Your new company
Our client is a well-regarded regional law firm operating in the North West. Specialising in housing litigation work, they are currently seeking Costs Draftsmen to join either their Manchester or Liverpool offices. The firm offers a strong benefits package, including a sizeable employer pension contribution, a very competitive bonus and 2 days working from home per week.

Your new role
This Costs Draftsman role will see you:

  • Support fee earners and solicitors by preparing accurate costs schedules where required (EPA cases).
  • Ensure timely recovery of costs following successful resolution of civil Housing Disrepair claims.
  • Liaise with fee earners and solicitors regarding costs on concluded cases.
  • Draft legal costs for court hearings relating to Statutory Nuisance claims under the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
  • Prepare and negotiate legal costs for Housing Disrepair and associated Breach of Contract claims.
  • Supervise junior costs paralegals who provide support to the in-house Costs Team.
  • Experience in enforcement of payment of legal costs and/or damages (preferred).


What you'll need to succeed

  • Legal Costs Drafting Experience - minimum of 2 years preferred.
  • Strong IT literacy.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work at pace while minimising errors.
  • Previous experience using Costs Management software (Costs Master preferred).
  • A confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail.
  • Able to thrive in a busy environment, prioritising tasks and meeting tight deadlines.
