About the role
Are you an inspirational senior police leader looking for a new challenge within a highly respected force? Wiltshire Police are seeking an Assistant Chief Constable who has the executive leadership and operational skills to make a tangible impact on the future of policing in our picturesque County.
Reporting to Wiltshire Police's DCC Mark Cooper, you will manage Wiltshire Police’s Crime, Justice and Vulnerability strategic area playing a pivotal role in ensuring we serve all our diverse communities by keeping them safe and preventing crime.
As part of the Chief Officer Group, you’ll lead continuous improvements in efficiency and effectiveness by driving performance and demand management, enhancing partnership collaborations and by embedding a culture of organisational learning.
In the ever-changing world of policing, we must do more with less - so a sharp commercial acumen and the ability to think outside of the box will be key.
You will also have experience in engaging and inspiring the entire workforce to deliver a culture that promotes and enables diversity and wellbeing. Your ability to innovate, deliver and demonstrate the corresponding results will be a prevailing feature of your career to-date.
Eligibility Criteria
Individuals who previously qualified as eligible for chief officer appointments by virtue of successfully completing the senior police national assessment centre (senior PNAC) and the strategic command course (SCC)
Individuals who are currently completing or have successfully completed the PLP – stage 5 (executive leaders)
Strong and demonstrable operational policing experience, understanding the changing shape of policing and the requirements of our communities
You’re experienced in leading business change with a sophisticated level of critical thinking, consistently looking beyond the obvious and exploring alternatives.
A commutable living distance of up to one hour from our Headquarters based in Devizes would be desirable
