Summary
Introduction
We are seeking a confident, professional and reliable Lead Outdoor Instructor to join our dedicated team of Outdoor Educators, based at our Auchincruive site, Ayr.
As a Lead Instructor, you will be trusted to lead our inspiring Mighty Oaks Nature Adventure Clubs (weekends with possible after school sessions starting in Spring) for children ages 6-12 years, with the freedom to fully enjoy and develop your skillset and craft in outdoor instructing and Forest School practice in a private forest school base-camp setting and wider country estate.
You will play a key role in shaping meaningful, child-led outdoor experiences while working within a supportive and values-driven team. For the right person, this role offers opportunities for additional hours, professional development, and future career progression within the organisation.
Job Overview
Job Title: Lead Outdoor Instructor (Weekend)
Pay Rate: £20 per hour including statutory holiday pay (equivalent to £36,400 per annum pro rata)
Reporting to: Directors of Little Acorns
Employment Status: Fixed-term contract until 30 June 2026 (with potential for extension subject to performance)
Working Pattern: Weekend work
Hours: Minimum of 6 hours per week, with potential for additional hours
