Summary


To work as a member of the Catering team and ensure that the provision of Catering Services to patients, visitors and staff is of the highest standard and quality.To ensure that Food Hygiene standards are adhered to and all necessary statutory requirements are met at all times

Ensure observance of Food Hygiene Legislation, Health and Safety Regulations andsafe practices and procedures general. To maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene as set out in the departmental Catering Policy and the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Policy.To understand and practice good food hygiene practices in accordance with food hygiene regulations.To assist in Food preparation and the service of both patient’s, staff and visitors in both kitchen and retail outlets . Acting courteously and, ensuring all meals reach the Trust’s standards of service and presentation within both patient and retail services.To correctly dispose of all waste streams e.g. food, cardboard, etc. following the instructions given by Supervisors/ Lead Chef regarding storage or disposal.Ensuring all crockery is clean and checked to the standards as determined by the policy and standard. To work within the retail units as and when required. The safe distribution of patient meals, meeting time deadlines to provide protected mealtimes. Support, maintain and encourage effective communication, and confidentiality of information. Carry out work in compliance with agreed Health and Safety standards. Ensure compliance with Trust policies, procedures, and guidelines for self-others, taking action/alerting senior management team if practice appears to contravene policy, or if concerned about any aspect of patient care.

Mentornew members of staff, ensuring they meet the standards required by the Trust for the service we deliver.
