Summary

I'm seeking part-time personal care assistants to support me on an ad-hoc basis, filling holiday, staff absence and special events. Must have full, UK driving licenses, be confident driving large vehicles, and be willing to be available some evenings/weekends. Above all, you must have a passion for making a difference in someone's life. No prior experience in care in necessary, but exerience in care, working with food, children, animals, medicines, warehouse work, beauty, or any service-based role would offer some fantastic transferable skills.

Role description:
This position is a bank position, where shifts would be offered under a no-obligation term, following training. Candidates would generally be offered shifts to cover holiday, sickness, and additional events, appointments and special holidays/activities that I have planned.

Successful applicants will:
- Be relatively strong and physically fit to help me with day to day tasks (e.g. lifting heavier items into the car, helping with vacuuming)
- Be reliable, committed and conscientious
- Have a reasonable level of written and spoken English to support with administrative tasks
- Be happy working around pets
- Have a full UK driver's license and be comfortable driving bigger vehicles
- Already have the right to work in the UK. Unfortunately this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
- Be happy to roll up your sleeves and muck in!
- Be honest, and a straightforward communicator
- Be open to learning new things, with great listening skills. Training is provided, and no experience necessary- but a good attitude is key!

As I have a physical, energy limiting disability, I need support with many of the more physically demanding parts of daily living such as housework, lifting heavy parcels upstairs for me, moving my wheelchair around and taking me on trips. This role can be slightly more demanding than some companionship-based PA/carer roles, which applicants should be in mind. If you enjoy be active, outdoors, and outside of the box thinking, then this might be the role for you.

I do not normally require support overnight at home, but I occasionally need support for overnight stays a few times a year for camping or work trips away, (accommodation and other expenses paid for). If you enjoy the outdoors, or being in the countryside, you will probably enjoy this aspect of the role. Ask me for more details.

I require support with routine aspects of daily living such as showering, dressing, cooking, shopping, laundry and housework. I need support with travel, so you will also be driving me to various medical, veterinary, hair, dental and other appointments, plus social outings. I love being out in nature, so when it's warm enough I like getting out whenever possible.

Applicants must have a full, clean UK driving license to be able to drive my disability vehicle (insurance provided), and have the right to work in the UK. This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check, and reference checks. Interview dates are TBC.
