Building Fabric Technician

Serco is recruiting a Multi-Skilled Engineer / Technician to support the maintenance of Great Western Hospital. You’ll deliver reactive and planned maintenance across building fabric, plant and equipment in a live healthcare environment, helping ensure safe and uninterrupted hospital services.

Key responsibilities
- Reactive repairs, fault finding and maintenance (including fire doors, fire stopping and fabric works)
- Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM)
- Diagnose faults in complex systems
- Plan maintenance works and coordinate contractors
- Complete risk and impact assessments for shutdowns
- Work safely in line with Serco policies and healthcare standards
- Support training and mentoring of apprentices
- Participate in shift work and on-call rota

What we’re looking for
- Completed recognised apprenticeship or equivalent technical training
- Qualification such as HNC, Level 4 NVQ/Diploma or similar
- Experience in a hospital or complex building environment preferred
- Strong building fabric knowledge
- Good communication and customer service skills
