Along with other neuroendocrine clinical nurse specialists and medical colleagues work in partnership with the multidisciplinary team to ensure patients receive a high standard of quality care and feel supported and informed at all stages of their treatment pathway. The post holder will demonstrate a high level of expertise, providing specialist advice, education and support for health care professionals and patients. The post holder will actively undertake clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives and research within the role. The post holder will take on additional responsibilities at the Senior Nurse / Associate Director of Cancer request to ensure that the service runs smoothly and meets all key performance indicators.
To work as a clinical nurse specialist in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team within endocrine services providing expert advice and support to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals, across both secondary and primary care
To work with the wider neuroendocrine cancer service, thyroid and endocrine cancer teams and have close working relationships with the clinical research team, surgical team, medical oncology and clinical oncology colleagues, radiation protection teams, nuclear medicine and theragnostic across the Trust.
The post holder will possess knowledge and skill across all the different treatment pathways and mentor and support junior colleagues in both CNS roles and across the wards. To support the neuroendocrine cancer patients in clinic (including maintaining support during neuroendocrine cancer treatments in other Trust facilities), those having in-patient treatment with radioactive sources and those having surgical management within Bart’s Health.
To support ward teams and day care areas in delivering quality care to the neuroendocrine patients.

To clinical nurse specialist is expected to attend weekly multidisciplinary team meeting and on occasion act as the patients advocate at other related MDT meetings
