Summary
We are pleased to invite applications for a Trust Grade Senior House Officer (ST1/2 equivalent) to join the ENT Department at Ipswich Hospital, part of East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT).
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated doctor seeking to gain further experience in ENT before applying for specialty training. You will join a friendly, supportive team providing high quality elective and emergency ENT care to patients across East Suffolk and North East Essex.
The post holder will:
• Provide day to day care for ENT inpatients, including ward rounds, reviews, and documentation
• Clerk new admissions, request investigations, and develop management plans under supervision
• Participate in general and urgent ENT outpatient clinics
• Assist in theatre lists with opportunities for supervised hands on experience
• Provide first on call ENT cover with support from middle grade and consultant colleagues
• Offer initial ENT advice to other specialties and support emergency referrals
• Complete discharge summaries and ensure continuity of care
• Participate in departmental teaching, audit, QI projects, and governance activities
• Support the teaching of medical students and junior colleagues

Clinical Duties
• Manage ENT inpatients and day case patients
