Summary
The successful applicant will be a doctor wishing to develop their skills and knowledge of geriatric medicine. This post would give excellent and broad experience for a pre-IMT or pre-registrar candidate. It would also be a great opportunity for a candidate interested in GP training to gain additional skills or a special interest.
The post will be whole-time (part time or job share will be considered, please contact to discuss).
The successful appointee will join the existing medical teams providing geriatric inpatient care.
The clinical fellow post available is detailed below.
Clinical: Ward based duties to include routine review of patients, progressing care, prescribing, requesting and evaluating relevant tests, liaising with all medical and allied health professionals. The post-holder will have a Consultant Clinical Supervisor and encouraged to follow the training curriculum, including participation in an appraisal. There will also be opportunities to attend clinics, undertake relevant procedures.
Education: There are educational opportunities throughout the working week including clinical governance, frailty and liaison work.
Other opportunities include participating in departmental mortality and morbidity meetings, teaching, audits or quality improvement projects with support and supervision.
