Summary

View Valley Ranch are looking for a dedicated Equine Apprentice to join their team on either a Level 2 or a Level 3 apprenticeship.


The position is for a non-ridden apprentice who is looking to step into and progress in the equine industry, developing their knowledge and understanding of of running a yard and taking care of horses.
You will be fully supported in your apprenticeship from a knowledgeable and experienced team, therefore prior experience is not essential, but you must have a great attitude and passion to learn about this industry.


View Valley Ranch have a variety of American Paint and Quarter horses, specialising in Western Riding and natural horsemanship skills. They teach all disciplines, as well as running experience days, camps, events, clinics and ranch holidays. Your role will involve helping with these activities and general yard duties including, but not limited to, turning out, bringing in, tacking up, grooming, rug changes, lunging and mucking out.


The hours will be a 5 day working week, including weekends. The team work on a rota basis and get given the rota 1 month at a time, ensuring working hours of 8am-5pm are covered and weekends are distributed fairly.


There is site accommodation available for candidates who require it - costs to be discussed with employer. If you do not require accommodation, please consider your transport before applying.
There is no availability to bring your own horse, but this could be a discussed again down the line for a successful candidate.


An interview and trial will take place.
To apply for this role, you must have been living in the UK for 3 years or more.





Training
All training will be provided on site during your paid working hours. Your day to day mentoring will be with your employer, and a combination of online and in person monthly sessions will be held with your Haddon Training Trainer Coach.

Qualifications required
GCSE Level 4/ Grade C in Maths and English or equivalent.
Call Haddon Training to discuss if not yet achieved - Must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills Maths and English

Prospects
Opportunity to progress onto a Level 3 senior equine groom if applicable, or permanent employment after completion of apprenticeship.
