TRAINEE QUALITY CONTROL LABORATORY ASSISTANT
JOB SPECIFICATION
We manufacture colour dispersions, polyester gelcoats, bonding pastes and lacquers for the composites and allied industries. We are looking for a trainee laboratory assistant to join our team.
Responsible to the Works Manager.
Description of Work
• Member of a small team working in our Quality Control Laboratory
• Testing production batches of all our product ranges
• Generating colour formulations/batch record sheets for production
• Colour matching using Datacolor Match Pigment computer software
• Generating product labels for finished products
• Other general laboratory duties as required
Skills and personal attributes required
• Previous experience in a laboratory or quality control environment not required as training will be provided.
• Excellent colour discernment ability essential (tested at interview stage)
• Ability to work with weights and measures, numerical calculations and percentages
• A methodical approach to work
• An excellent team player
Training
• Full training will be provided on all aspects of the role on-site
Hours
• Monday - Thursday: 8.15am to 4.30pm with 30 minutes for lunch
• Fridays: 8.15am to 3.45pm with 30 minutes for lunch
• 38 hours per week
Holidays
• 25 days' holiday per annum, comprising of five fixed days at Christmas and twenty days to be taken at other times, plus all bank holidays
Commencement
• To be agreed.
