Summary

Are you a passionate and dynamic English Teacher ready to inspire a love of language, literature, and critical thinking?

We are working in partnership with a welcoming and high-achieving secondary school in Stockport to recruit a talented English Teacher to join their team in January 2026.

This is a full-time role, teaching English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4. The post is initially until Easter, with the potential for extension or a permanent opportunity for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold QTS (or equivalent) with a specialism in English Language and/or Literature


  • Deliver engaging, well-planned and differentiated lessons across KS3 and KS4


  • Have strong classroom and behaviour management, maintaining high expectations for learning and conduct


  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils


  • Work collaboratively within a supportive department to raise attainment and foster a love of reading and writing
