About our Superstar role
The working week of our Cook role is 35 hour hours, 8 hours per day, over 5 days with a one unpaid lunch. There's no late night’s which is great for work/ life balance. The role is based in Paisley with good transport links from Paisley Gilmour Street railway station and town centre. You will be delivering a fantastic service of healthy and nutritional meals to our customers as well as treats likes cakes and bakes.
Ailsa court has 27 residents who all enjoy meals and socialising in the dinning room.
You must be confident in maintaining environmental health regulations within our kitchens and maintaining cleanliness in this area.
You will be managing stock and ordering goods with a emphasis on good local produce to ensure that our customers have a wide and varied menu choice.
Our superstar cook should also have some knowledge on special diets such as diabetic, allergen free and soft diets.
What we need our Superstar cook to have the following skills and attributes
• A genuine passion for helping people.
• Good team working skills.
• Ability to cook healthy, nutritional meals.
• Flexible approach to work with the ability to emphasise with vulnerable adults.
• Demonstrate professional conduct in working with vulnerable customers.
• Basis IT skills.
• Knowledge of Cook Safe and HACCP food safety regulations.
It would be helpful if you have the following:
• A good understanding of Health & Safety and Food Safety regulations.
• A food hygiene and/or catering qualification.
• Ideally, one year's experience in a similar / equivalent role.
