Are you a practical, reliable, and hands-on professional looking for a rewarding role where your skills make a real difference? We are seeking a School Caretaker to join a friendly, supportive SEND school in South Gloucestershire.
In this role, you’ll be the person who keeps the school running smoothly—ensuring that staff, pupils, and visitors enjoy a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment every day. If you have experience in caretaking, site management, or maintenance—and enjoy being part of a supportive team—this could be the perfect role for you.
Key Responsibilities-
Opening and closing school premises, including securing buildings and grounds

Carrying out routine maintenance, repairs, and minor DIY tasks

Ensuring health and safety standards are consistently met

Maintaining external areas and supporting cleaning staff where needed
-
Monitoring heating, lighting, and water systems
-
Managing deliveries and setting up rooms for activities or events
-
Reporting faults, damage, or safety concerns promptly
-
Liaising with contractors and overseeing work on site
The Ideal Candidate Will Have-
Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply

Experience in caretaking, site management, or maintenance (school experience desirable but not essential)

Practical skills and confidence with DIY tasks

Knowledge of basic health and safety procedures
-
A proactive, flexible, and dependable approach

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Good communication and organisational skills
