Job Title: Receptionist & Self-Service Laundry Assistant
Part time or Full-time
Overview
We are looking for a friendly, organised, and reliable individual to manage front-of-house reception duties while overseeing the self-service laundry area. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, maintain a clean and safe environment, and have a basic understanding of laundry processes.
Key Responsibilities
Reception Duties
Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional assistance.
Answer phone calls, manage enquiries, and handle bookings.
Process payments, issue invoices, and provide receipts when required.
Maintain accurate customer records and ensure all billing is completed correctly.
Keep the reception area tidy and organised.
Assist with general administrative tasks as needed.
Self-Service Laundry Management
Monitor the self-service area to ensure machines are tidy, functioning, and being used correctly.
Guide customers on wash programs, temperatures, detergent dosing, and fabric care.
Carry out routine checks on machines and report faults.
Ensure vending items and consumables are stocked.
Assist customers who experience issues with machines or payments.
Customer Service & Store Support
Resolve customer queries politely and efficiently.
Assist with light laundry tasks where required (sorting, folding, bagging, labelling).
Maintain cleanliness and safety across the entire facility.
Follow all operational, health, and safety procedures.
Skills & Experience
Previous customer service or receptionist experience preferred.
Basic understanding of laundry processes (colours vs whites, temperatures, fabric types).
Confident handling payments, issuing invoices, and using simple POS/systems.
Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving abilities.
Able to multitask and work independently.
Reliable, punctual, and professional.
Personal Qualities
Friendly and approachable.
Attention to detail.
Calm under pressure.
Organised and procedure-focused.
Keen to learn more about laundry operations.
May Assist in-house with laundry operations during quieter periods, such as:
Sorting and moving laundry bags
Loading/unloading washers and dryers
Folding and packing finished orders
