Summary
The primary role of an MSW is to assist, support and work in collaboartion with the maternity teams ranging from midwives to consultants in order to provide safe, holistic and compassionate maternity care to all. The postholder will undertake clinical tasks such as maternal and neonatal observations and required escalation, venepunture and personal care. In addtion, MSWs are key to providing care and support in a families choosen feeding method in line with UNICEF standards. The postholder will also provide public health information to families for example, healthy lifestyles, smoking cessation and safe sleeping.
