Personal Care Assistant + Animal Care (Dog and Cat)
Job Description:
A rare opportunity to assist a disabled woman with all aspects of personal, domestic and social tasks to maintain an active and outdoor life; including helping her in innovative ways to look after her animals. In essence, I am looking for someone to be my arms and legs. Previous experience is not a prerequisite, as training can be given.
A bit about me:
My name is Philippa Armstrong. I am 65yo and I live near Totnes. Previously I was an organic hill farmer, single parent, landscape architect, disability consultant and pioneered Open dog agility.
My quadriparesis has taught me many innovative ways to both live my life and handle my dogs, which I expect my staff to adhere to, which in turn enables me to maintain an active and outdoor life.
When I get the opportunity, I like to go to the beach and Dartmoor and to zhuzh up my house and garden. I have an excellent team of staff, for whom I have great respect and try to create a friendly working environment.
What I am looking for:
Essential
• RELIABILITY
• Assistance with all aspects of personal, domestic & social tasks. nb:my animals eat raw food.
• A willingness to implement the principles of interacting with assistance dogs.
• You have a good set of waterproofs, wellingtons and a hardy nature.
Advantageous
• A driving licence and a willingness to drive an automatic sprinter van.
• Someone flexible to work as a team with my other PA’s covering sickness and holidays.

Shifts available:
Alternate Sundays 7.30am-1pm and/or 1pm-7pm (please state preference)
Other shifts may become available in the future
Hourly rate:
Daytime £18.32 per hour
Night time £15.25 per hour
