Summary
Community care assistant

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated community carers to provide essential support to individuals in their own homes. As a community carer, you will play a vital role in assisting service users with their daily activities and ensuring their overall well-being. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care assistance to service users, including bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Companionship
- Prompt/Administer medication according to prescribed schedules
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding if required
- Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Monitor and report any changes in service users’ health or behaviour
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, such as district nurses, to ensure fully integrated and coordinated care
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided
- Help service users with accessing local communities, including shopping, attending appointments and activities, days out
Experience:
- Previous experience of caring for elderly service users in their own homes
- Full UK driving license
- Experience in medication administration protocols
- Knowledge of safe moving and handling
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to handle challenging situations with empathy and professionalism
- Relevant social care mandatory training or willing to obtain this
