We are looking to recruit a Band 4 Mental Health Co-ordinator to join our Mental Health Act team, providing Mental Health administration as part of the Service Level Agreement with the Acute Trusts.
You will need to have Mental Health Act Administration experience, scrutinise Mental Health Act section paperwork in accordance with the current Mental Health Act legislation and provide training to acute trusts in accordance with the SLA specification.
The post holder must hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car/vehicle to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
This is a post that will involve working across all 3 Trust Sites and potentially Acute Sites across Kent.
• Ensure the efficient administration of statutory requirements under the Mental Health Act 1983 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005 alongside the Mental Health Administrators. Ensure compliance with the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Codes of Practice, Trust policies and procedures for the Acts. To support clinical staff to comply with the Mental Health Act 1983, Mental Capacity Act and associated procedures. To ensure that KMPT’s Service Level Agreements with Acute Trusts are fulfilled and maintained through the administration of Mental Health Act paperwork.
• Travel to each site as required to collect section paperwork and be on hand for acute staff queries around the implementation of the MHA, Code of Practice and Guiding Principles.
• Create training packages and deliver in accordance with the current legislation.
• Create databases and keep a register of audits in accordance with the current legislation.
