Summary
General purpose:
• To support, sustain and shape the growth of the library's collections accordingly, both physical and digital.
• To manage the strategic development of function for libraries by collections care development, library book and electronic stock, specialist collections, ensuring operational excellence in all areas
• To take a lead role in managing and developing both hardcopy and electronic library stock and working with ICT to oversee systems management, managing relationships with suppliers and other partners.
• To manage and support any projects related to the service arising from successful funding bids
• To manage the Mobile Library Service, Housebound Service, Library Link Service and Micro Libraries.
• To deputise for the Library Service Manager as required, contributing to the overall leadership and development of the service and ensuring continuity of management when needed.
The post holder has line management responsibility for:
• Library Resources Officers
• Mobile Library Assistants
Financial:
• Annual expenditure: up to £100,000
