About The Company:
JDR are partnering with a leading environmental services company based in the Carmarthenshire area. We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Team Leader to help supervise a key operational team at a brand-new facility.
The Opportunity:
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Plant Operator or an existing Team Leader with a strong operational background to take on a key role in a new, modern facility. As a Team Leader, you will be the driving force on the ground, leading a small team of recycling operatives by example. You will be responsible for ensuring your team works safely and efficiently to meet daily production targets, making you a vital part of the site's success from day one.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily support, motivation, and guidance to a team of recycling operatives on a busy processing line.
- Lead by example to ensure the highest standards of Health & Safety are followed at all times.
- Organise the team to meet daily and weekly targets for material throughput and quality.
- Act as the first point of contact for your team, resolving minor issues and escalating to the supervisor when necessary.
- Assist with on-the-job training for new starters.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks and pre-shift briefings.
- Ensure the work area is kept clean, safe, and organised.
What We Are Looking For:
- A valid plant operator qualification/licence (e.g., loading shovel, 360 excavator, telehandler) is essential for this role.
- Previous experience as a Team Leader, Supervisor, or a Senior Operative ready to take the next step up is required.
- Experience working in a similar industrial environment (e.g., recycling, waste management, aggregates, or manufacturing) is required.
- A natural leader who is comfortable motivating and guiding a team.
- An unwavering commitment to Health & Safety.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving attitude.
