Summary

SEND KS3 Teacher

South Gloucestershire
Start Date: ASAP / April 2026

As a SEND KS3 Teacher, you will support young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The SEND KS3 Teacher role focuses on helping pupils access learning, regulate emotions and build confidence within a calm, structured environment.

This opportunity would suit a SEND KS3 Teacher who is patient, adaptable and resilient. As a SEND KS3 Teacher, you will see first-hand how even small achievements lead to meaningful academic, social and emotional progress.

You will work as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team. A SEND KS3 Teacher will be supported by experienced teaching assistants and specialist professionals in a well-resourced setting that values staff wellbeing and professional development.

The Setting

This specialist SEND provision supports Key Stage 3 pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism and SEMH. The environment enables each SEND KS3 Teacher to deliver personalised learning, with a strong focus on engagement, independence and wellbeing.

About the Role

TeacherActive is working in partnership with a specialist SEND provider offering a flexible, pupil-centred curriculum. For a SEND KS3 Teacher, the role includes supporting:

  • Communication and independence


  • Confidence building and life skills


    The role is available on a full-time basis, with part-time options considered. You will work with Key Stage 3 pupils, many of whom have diagnoses including ASD, learning difficulties and additional emotional needs.

    The Successful SEND KS3 Teacher Will Have:

    ✅ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / ECT / NQT)
    Experience supporting pupils with SEND (ASD, SEMH, ADHD, learning difficulties)
    A calm, consistent and inclusive teaching approach
    A passion for supporting young people’s academic and personal development
