The Role
We’re recruiting for a Senior Contract Manager here at Justice Digital, to be part of our warm and collaborative Portfolio & Controls team.
These are exciting times at Justice Digital. We have a clear vision to develop a digitally enabled justice system that works more simply for users, and we are looking for talented people to help us achieve it.

The design, delivery, and support of Digital, Data, & Technology services are heavily dependent on collaboration between the MoJ and members of its extensive supplier ecosystem. On behalf of the wider MoJ organisation, Justice Digital invest over £550m per annum in supplier capability and solutions – many of which are critical to the operation of MoJ.
The contract management team exists to ensure that the money spent with suppliers is well managed. The team ensures that all contracts are established based on the best information available and managed for long-term value, while facilitating the development and maintenance of longer-term strategic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead, and where appropriate support, the end-to-end Contract and Supplier Management activities across a portfolio of contracts, with responsibilities tailored according to supplier and contract classification, including:
Provide guidance, support, and training to Contract Managers to ensure consistent application of best practice across the contract portfolio.
Act as an expert advisor on contract and supplier management, driving continuous improvement of the framework and processes.
Lead initiatives to develop and enhance guidance, tools, and templates, and communicate updates effectively to stakeholders.
Collaborate with the Head of Contract and Supplier Relationship Management to embed the organisational vision, values, and culture.
Work together with the team to define and deliver objectives aligned with organisational strategy, actively fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
Champion the value and benefits of best practice contract and supplier management across Justice Digital.
Deliver targeted training programmes to build departmental capability and educate stakeholders.
Serve as the first point of escalation for contract and supplier management issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
Provide strategic contract and supplier insights to key stakeholders, supporting informed decision-making.
Promote consistency and facilitate the sharing of best practice across the contract management community.
Directly manage and develop a team of Contract Managers, supporting their professional growth and performance.
Working with Commercial and wider Justice Digital colleagues to implement and mobilise new contracts across the portfolio, to ensure contracts are administered effectively and provide value; supporting transition and exit activity where necessary.
Establish governance to ensure effective management of contracts and supplier relationships, maximising value and compliance.
Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with suppliers and stakeholders, constructively challenging where necessary and upholding professional standards.
Lead key contract and supplier management meetings, ensuring objectives are met and value is delivered.
Define and communicate clear roles and responsibilities to support effective contract and supplier relationship management.
Support the creation and execution of mobilisation, transition, and exit plans to contribute to seamless contract lifecycle management.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure on-time and accurate supplier payments in line with contractual processes, providing the necessary operational data and approvals as required.
Manage the contract pipeline, data systems, and records to facilitate procurement activities and support robust contract management.
Leading contract and supplier performance management across a portfolio of contracts.
Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across the contract and supplier portfolio, ensuring alignment with Ministry of Justice strategic objectives.
Collaborate with stakeholders to review and validate performance data, constructively challenging results to ensure compliance and value for money.
Oversee the implementation of social value plans, ensuring commitments are fulfilled and positive impact is achieved.
Act as the Justice Digital subject matter expert (SME) for the contract portfolio, providing expert advice and guidance.
Lead forward planning and continuous improvement to ensure the Contract and Supplier Management schedule is delivered on time and to the highest quality standards.
Manage contract and supplier performance activities, including reporting, communication, and delivery of joint improvement plans with suppliers where required.
Ensure consistency of approach and facilitate the sharing of best practice across Contract Managers within the portfolio.
