Summary
The successful candidate will have a special interest in the trauma surgery and LRS. Please see the attached job plan for details. The appointee would be responsible for the clinical care of patients, undertaking ward rounds, operating sessions, and outpatient clinics. It is anticipated that the appointee will work closely in partnership with existing surgeons. He/she will also be expected to visit other surgical centres of excellence with a view to enhancing his/her level of training and skills. The post-operative care of the patients will be covered by on-call consultant colleagues during out of hours and/or the weekend.
Trauma or Elective Week as part of the established 24 week rolling rota:
In addition: On call (Nominated on call days 1:4 weeks Monday to Thursday, and 1:8 weekends.). It is envisaged that the maximum average emergency work per week arising during premium time from on call duties will be 3 hours.
Weekends will alternate between first consultant on call and second consultant on-call.
For the position advertised, 8.5Pas DCC and 1.5Pa SPA will be offered. The job plan will be subject to change and agreement with the successful applicant and will be subject to review in line with Institution policy.
