Summary
Assistant Shop Manager
Are you passionate about charity retail, with a creative flair for fashion and want to use your skills to make a real difference to your local community?
Since 1980, we’ve been at the heart of our community, delivering expert, compassionate end-of-life care. Our shops are more than just retail outlets, they’re hubs of community spirit and fundraising success. With 18 locations and a brilliant team of staff and volunteers, we’re proud to support people when they need us most.
Hours: 22.5 hours per week (three days a week, which will include working weekends and some bank holidays).
What is the role?
We’re looking for someone proactive, customer focused, and community minded to help drive sales, engage our volunteers, and support the day-to-day running of the shop. This is more than just a retail job, it's a chance to make a real difference locally.
As Assistant Shop Manager, you will:
• Support the shop manager in achieving sales targets and delivering a fantastic customer experience
• Help coordinate a team of dedicated volunteers
• Ensure attractive stock displays and merchandising to maximise sales
• Promote Gift Aid donations and manage donations effectively
• Contribute to the development of new promotions and other improvements to retail practice
• Take full responsibility in the Shop Manager’s absence (including occasional full-time cover)
You will need to hold a full driving licence and be flexible to cover other shops in our catchment area when needed.
In return, you will be joining a great team working in a supportive environment for one of Swindon’s best loved charities. If you love retail but want something more meaningful have a look at the apply now to be part of something truly special!
