Summary
Do you have experience of developing low carbon fuels or other energy/ carbon policy?
Can you effectively engage stakeholders and communicate complex issues in clear and concise manner?
If so, we’d love to hear from you!
The Department for Transport (DfT) is a UK government department responsible for the transport network in England. It sets policy, provides funding, and oversees major transport infrastructure projects. Greening transport is a key priority of the Secretary of State and low carbon fuels – such as those used in road vehicles and aircraft – are a core part of the department's strategic approach to decarbonising transport.
Low carbon fuels are delivering substantial greenhouse gas savings every day in the UK’s road vehicles and have been doing so since 2008. Our work tackles important questions such as ‘what role should low carbon fuels play in the transition to net zero?’ ‘How much support should the Government give to low carbon fuels?’ ‘Which type of fuels should the Government support and how?’ and ‘How does our policy affect the UK low carbon fuels industry?’
Joining our department comes with many benefits, including:
- Employer pension contribution of 28.97% of your salary. Read more about Civil Service Pensions here
- 25 days annual leave, increasing by 1 day each year of service (up to a maximum of 30 days annual leave), plus 8 bank holidays and a privilege day for the King’s birthday
- Flexible working options where we encourage a great work-life balance.
