Summary


Clinical Fellowships in Microsurgery & Breast Reconstruction

Join our dynamic Plastic & Breast Surgery team as a Clinical Fellow and advance your specialist skills in Microsurgery and Breast Reconstruction.

Over a six‑month rotation, you will work closely with leading Consultant Plastic and Breast Surgeons, gaining hands‑on experience in their areas of expertise.

These fellowships arenon‑Deanery training posts, but they offer an exceptional opportunity for senior trainees—UK and international—to develop advanced surgical capabilities. As a core member of the team, you will take significant responsibility for patient care, contributing directly to complex surgical pathways and multidisciplinary decision‑making.

Fellows will be actively involved in research and strongly encouraged to present and publish their work. The role provides exposure to high volumes of microsurgical breast reconstruction, alongside broader experience across sub-specialties when providing prospective cover.

As the Fellow, you will:

support the breast reconstruction service at the St Andrew's Centre & satellite hospitals as required.

be involved in microsurgical breast reconstruction

participate in breast reconstruction MDT and Risk Reducing Mastectomy MDT

be required to undertake independently skin cancer surgery, breast symmetrisation procedures and general plastic surgery work

attend the out-patient departments and the operating theatres as required by the consultants.

be expected to participate in an on-call rota which covers the management of Plastic, Hand and Burn patients admitted as emergencies in the manner normal to Plastic Surgical Units worldwide.

be responsible for attending to the administrative matters associated with the above.
