We currently have an exciting opportunity for part time Cover Supervisors to join our fantastic team at Manchester Enterprise Academy (MEA)in Wythenshawe

The posts are permanent and part time, working 14-21 hours/2-3 days per week, term time only plus 5 INSET days. The pro-rata salary is £9,999-£14,999 and full time equivalent starting salary is £29,064, Grade 5.

We’re looking for:

We are seeking a confident, adaptable and proactive individual who enjoys working with young people and is committed to supporting their learning. The successful candidate will be able to manage classroom behaviour effectively, deliver pre-prepared lessons, and provide feedback on student progress. Experience in a school setting is desirable, but not essential, we welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds who are passionate about education and making a difference.

Main purpose of the job:

As Cover Supervisor you will complement the professional work of teachers by delivering agreed learning activities to whole classes during short-term staff absences. You will ensure continuity of learning, manage classroom behaviour, and support students in overcoming barriers to learning.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supervise whole classes during teacher absence, delivering pre-set work.
• Maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
• Provide feedback on student progress and behaviour.
• Support curriculum areas and contribute to resource development.
• Assist with classroom displays and general teaching support.
• Undertake break and lunchtime duties as part of the school rota.
• Accompany students on educational visits and trips.
• Support other areas of the school when cover demand is low.

Essential qualifications & experience:

• Good literacy and numeracy skills (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent or higher)
• Experience working with or caring for children or young people
• Understanding of the national curriculum and basic learning strategies
• A calm, adaptable and positive approach to managing student behaviour
