Applications are invited for Medical Training Initiative Doctor (MTI) in Cellular Pathology. The post is to support the Cellular Pathology Service for Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust (Royal Free Hospital and Barnet and Chase Farm Hospital) and North Middlesex Hospitals. This is an intensive and complete program of subspecialty clinical and didactic education that focuses on the multidisciplinary care of patients and supports the preparation of FRCPath Parts I and II. For suitable candidates, the post offers advanced medical education beyond a core training/residency program for histopathologists who wish to enter more specialised practice.
The main duties will be to participate on a rotational basis in the surgical pathology and diagnostic cytology services of the department (including specimen cut-up) and preparation of specimen reports. The successful candidate will be expected to take part in the undergraduate teaching as necessary. Further responsibilities include participation in audit and administrative functions of the department.
