Summary
This would be an ideal post for an ST6+ Haematologist to develop a specialist interest in all aspects of cellular immunotherapy and stem cell transplantation in a busy CAR-T and transplant centre. The successful applicants will rotate between Cellular Therapies and Blood and Marrow Transplant and will provide cross-cover for absences. Within the Trust there is an increasing focus on cellular therapies with several clinical trials as well as standard NHS comissioned therapies. The enlargement of the Cambridge Cellular Therapy Laboratory into new purpose-built facilities will allow the manufacture of novel CAR-T products on site in due course. There are strong academic links with the University of Cambridge research programmes in Haematological Malignancy and Cancer Immunology. It is expected that post holders are GCP trained, and take part in clinical trials work. The Department of Haematology at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers the full range of clinical (levels 1-4) and laboratory Haematology. It acts as a Tertiary Referral Centre for complex cases and serves as routine service for local patients. Strong links exist between the Clinical Service, the academic department and the Haemato-Oncology Diagnostic Service. The roles will also require collaboration with regional hospital colleagues. Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust includes Addenbrookes and the Rosie Hospitals. We are one of the largest and busiest hospitals in the country with an outstanding reputation that is down to the exceptional people that work here. Please refer to the Job description and Person specification attached for further details on the main responsibilities and duties for this post.
