Come and join our CAMHS Family at Rochford Hospital! We have opportunity to recruit an additional activity co-ordinator to support the young people admitted to the ward.

Poplar Adolescent Unit is a mental health inpatient hospital caring for 13-18 year olds admitted due to deterioration in their mental health. The post holder carries responsibility for planning and delivery of a range of wellbeing, social, fitness and educational activities for patients at Poplar Adolescent Unit with diverse mental health needs on both a group and individual basis.

Baseline knowledge of autism and mental health issues is beneficial, further training will be provided. You will be supported and guided by qualified Occupational Therapy staff to support young people along their recovery journey.
• Following a holistic assessment by the multi-disciplinary team, the post holder will contribute to the care plan through the provision of a range of therapeutic activities under the overall supervision of qualified Occupational Therapy staff.
• The post holder will promote and support patients in aspects of self-care (this includes physical fitness) and activities of daily living to fulfil an independent, healthy life-style within their own limitations.
• The post holder will encourage patients to maintain their sense of identity, personal relationships social contacts and physical health, whilst respecting the individuals own cultural and religious beliefs.
