About the Role:
Sugarman Health and Wellbeing is seeking exceptionally patient, kind Complex Care Assistants to form a dedicated team for a remarkable lady. This is a profoundly impactful role, providing clinical and emotional support to our service user following a catastrophic brain injury.
Your role will be central to maintaining her physical health and psychological wellbeing. Our service user is non-verbal and communicates using an alphabet board and specific physical signals. She requires full support for all aspects of her care, including airway management via a tracheostomy and nutrition via a PEG. While her needs are complex, the opportunity to build a trusting, supportive relationship and enable her to engage with the world is incredibly rewarding.
Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Care: Competently managing tracheostomy care, suctioning, nebulisers, and PEG feeding and medication.

Personal Care & Mobility: Providing full personal care and hygiene. Repositioning and performing all transfers using a hoist.

Communication: Patently using an alphabet chart and observing unique signals (toe/head movements) to understand her needs and wishes.

Psychological Support: Providing a calm, consistent, and reassuring presence. Building trust is paramount, as our service user experiences periods of distress.

Community Access: Supporting our service user to access the community as part of her care plan, requiring a driver on shift.

Requirements for the Role:

Experience in complex clinical care (Tracheostomy, PEG, Suction) is highly desirable.

Must be willing to travel to Chester for shadowing and training.

To provide the correct compliance documents, including an updated Right to Work.
