We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist to join us in the Kent Clinical Neuropsychology Service for Stroke. This post is to work in the Thanet area (Margate & Ramsgate).
The is a community role and involves a mix of specialist neuropsychological assessment, cognitive rehabilitation interventions, and psychological therapy work, supporting people with their emotional adjustment and their stroke recovery. The work is with stroke survivors, their families and carers. We support a multidisciplinary approach wherever possible and work closely with colleagues in the Community Neurorehabilitation Teams.
The post is based at Gregory House in Canterbury and is co-located with other colleagues in the service. The trust supports hybrid/flexible models of working. There will be close working with a Principal Clinical Psychologist, who will provide supervision, and there is lots of opportunity for informal support. The post would suit someone with past neuro experience, but we would also consider someone who is newly qualified or wishing to move across from another specialty.
Within the Kent Clinical Neuropsychology Service there is a strong rehabilitation focus and staff have interests in a wide range of therapeutic models including ACT, CFT, Narrative Therapy and Systemic Family Therapy approaches.
The service has a commitment to ongoing training and professional development and there are links with Canterbury Christ Church Clinical Psychology training course.
