Summary
The successful midwife will provide high quality and effective care to women who have chosen to have either NHS or private care during their pregnancy journey, ensuring that all families are cared for compassionately and sensitively. The midwife will ensure that families are cared for appropriately in a timely manner and have individualised plans of care that are documented and agreed with the women, considering the woman's holistic, cultural and individual needs. The midwife must be flexible in his/her care of women and be aware that based on unit requirements, on occasion, his/her skills may be required in other ward areas within St Thomas' maternity unit.
