Summary

Job responsibilities Clinical Measure vision and visual acuity for distance & near as appropriate using Snellen or LogMAR charts Perform autorefraction Measure spectacle prescriptions using automated & manual focimeters Perform visual field examination using the Humphrey Visual Field Analyser Perform rebound/automated tonometry Perform OCT and colour retinal imaging Perform Pentacam corneal topography Accurately & legibly record test results in patient casenotes / ophthalmic database Seek guidance from a senior member of staff when clinical results necessitate Instil dilating eye drops in accordance with protocols Manage own clinical workload Participate in the development of Healthcare Science Support Workers Ensure a safe working environment, reporting any risks or equipment faults to the relevant Speciality Lead Monitor stock levels of consumables Undertake other administrative duties as specified by the Speciality Leads / Manager Deliver reliable, effective customer service and contribute to its improvement
