Hays Education is working in partnership with the school to appoint an experienced Year 5 Class Teacher for a January 2026 start.
The Role
We are seeking a confident and capable primary teacher to take full responsibility for a Year 5 class. You will deliver high quality teaching, maintain strong routines and create a purposeful learning environment where all pupils feel supported and motivated.
This is a full-class-based role with planning, assessment and parent communication responsibilities.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
*QTS in UK or equivalent
*Strong experience teaching in Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5
*Excellent behaviour management, with the confidence to address low level chattiness
*Secure understanding of the KS2 curriculum
*Ability to support pupils with typical classroom-based SEN
*A reflective, proactive and positive approach to teaching
*Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

*Full employment history, with explanations for any gaps
*Overseas police checks if you have lived abroad for 6+ months in the last 5 years
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in UK
*Completion of Hays' mandatory safeguarding training prior to placement
