Are you someone who enjoys getting out and about, having fun, and making a positive difference in someone’s life? We are looking for a caring, reliable, and fun-loving Personal Assistant to provide overnight respite support for a sociable and adventurous 23-year-old young woman.

She enjoys being on the go and loves trips to the cinema, theatre, and musicals, as well as swimming, visiting new places, going for walks, and stopping at cafés for a hot chocolate. At home, she enjoys listening to music (and sometimes having a dance), doing jigsaws, arts and crafts, watching TV, and helping out with cooking. Creating a relaxed, friendly environment during overnight stays is important to her.

She has a learning disability and requires calm, patient support to help her stay safe and feel reassured, particularly when things feel challenging. She also lives with Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome (CVS), so the successful applicant will need to be observant, reassuring, and able to offer gentle support if she becomes unwell. Full guidance and support will be provided.

The role involves providing two overnight stays per week, paid at £41.50 per overnight. These overnights will usually take place in the PA’s home, with occasional overnight support in her own home, and must include a Friday or Saturday night.

We are looking for someone who is caring, understanding, and reliable, and who enjoys being sociable and supportive. Confidence in supporting a young adult with a learning disability is important, and previous experience would be beneficial.

She lives with her mum, dad, sister, and the family dog, so it is important that applicants are comfortable around families and pets. If you are patient, dependable, and enjoy making a positive difference through overnight support, we would love to hear from you.

- Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
- Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Honest and cheerful

- Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
- Must be comfortable with pets

If you are successful in your application for this position, you will be either engaged directly or employed by the individual employer and not by Independent Lives.
