Summary
For further information on this role, please see the attached detailed Job Description and Person Specification To sustain a high-quality specialist service for the patient, from diagnosis through all stages of the disease and actively provide optimum liaison and continuity of care. In collaboration with the existing Clinical Nurse Specialists, to formulate and/or revise relevant policies and to regularly review these following change/implementations. To work within the procedures and policies of the Trust. In conjunction with the existing Clinical Nurse Specialists, to develop assessment tools that will ensure an appropriate level of nursing intervention so that patients with complex needs are referred to the appropriate specialist/s. To lead clinical care by providing expert assessment, planning, evaluation and support skills in all aspects of pain management To provide medical and surgical teams with individualised pain management plans for both acute and complex pain referrals. These plans are to encompass guidance on suitable drug administration, inclusive of dosages, as well as information on non- pharmacological management techniques. To conduct regular follow-ups with patients to assess the efficacy of the prescribed regimen.
