Summary

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Fire Extinguisher Technician (Field Service Technician) to join a well-established company!

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent.
Salary: £29,000 - £34,000 Per Annum, Depending on Experience.
Location: Havant, Hampshire – Successful candidate must live within 30 minutes’ drive of PO9.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (door to door).

About The Role:

They are looking for a Fire Extinguisher Service Technician to join their maintenance and servicing team. Reporting to the Team Manager, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, installation, and repair of fire extinguishers, while also offering fire safety advice to clients. This is a mobile role ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, being on the road, and managing their own schedule.

The ideal candidate someone with enthusiasm, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work flexibly, including occasional travel with overnight stays.

The company welcome applications from experienced technicians and would also consider a trainee for the right candidate – full training can be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, and installation of fire extinguishers to current British Standards (BS 5306)
• Identify and proactively recommend remedial work or upgrades
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and time spent
• Liaise with office staff to plan and coordinate appointments
• Conduct on-site risk assessments and adhere to health & safety protocols
• Deliver excellent customer service and represent the company professionally at all times
• Promote additional services and generate potential leads where appropriate
Required Skills & Experience:

• Full UK driving licence
• Willingness and ability to travel across the country, including overnight stays
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong written and record-keeping skills
• A minimum of 1 year’s experience in the fire protection industry
• DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• IFEDA or FIA accredited training
• Experience servicing fire extinguishers to BS 5306 standards
• Understanding of UK fire safety legislation and fire extinguisher servicing regulations
