Summary
We have a 12 month Fixed Term Contract Band 6 Physiotherapy role available.
We are looking for an experienced and proactive physiotherapist wishing to work in a tertiary musculoskeletal environment, assessing and treating patients with spinal and lower limb presentations. Our innovative and dynamic team includes clinical specialists and advanced physiotherapy practitioners. We place emphasis on ensuring appropriate support for our team in providing a robust induction to familiarise new staff with complex presentations specific to the tertiary caseload. We have an established education programme for all members of the team; offering dedicated time for in-service training, supervision with senior members of the team, drop in sessions with clinical specialists and complex case discussions.
Our team is passionate about continuous development and dedicated to our AHP and trust strategy. This role would include opportunities to enhance leadership skills and contribute to service development.
This is an ideal opportunity for physiotherapist who:
Have 3 years’ post graduate experience with at least 1 years in MSK outpatients
Excellent clinical reasoning skills
Good organisational and communication skills
Enjoys a challenging and complex caseload
Will benefit from being part of a supportive and dynamic team
Passionate about MDT working
To perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse and complex conditions, to provide a physiotherapy diagnosis and to develop and deliver a patient focused treatment programme.
To be responsible for own caseload working without direct supervision. All aspects of clinical duties will be undertaken as an autonomous practitioner. Supervision takes the form of regular formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, problem case sessions and peer review. Access to advice and support from senior colleagues is available if required.
To supervise, educate and assess the performance of more rotational staff and physiotherapy students. To take a lead on the unit in the absence of lead clinician.
To undertake evidence based audit and research projects to further own and teams clinical practice within each rotation. To make recommendations to the clinical lead/manager for changes to practice by team. To lead on the implementation of specific changes to practice.
