Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 role within the Resuscitation and Simulation Department. This is a cross site post, working across multiple acute hospital sites and satellite units as part of the wider team working across Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. This is a full-time post.
The role will provide an opportunity for motivated and enthusiastic healthcare professionals with an interest in resuscitation to gain valuable experience working across a wide variety of services and alongside staff from all disciplines.
You will be working alongside Resuscitation Practitioners and members of the support team, comprising technicians and course coordinators, supporting the Resuscitation Service Team Lead to provide a comprehensive and cohesive resuscitation service for the Trust.
As a member of the team, you will be providing resuscitation training to all grades of staff and professions, from basic to advanced life support as qualified and required. As a professional role model you will provide direct and indirect clinical care, ensuring the needs of the patient are central to service delivery. You will monitor and improve standards of care through supervision of practice, clinical audit, evidence based practice, teaching and supporting professional colleagues and the provision of skilled professional leadership. You will actively contribute to the clinical effectiveness processes within the service.
We are looking for a Band 6 Adult Resuscitation Practitioner to become part of our team. You must be enthusiastic, highly motivated, confident, flexible and demonstrate excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
You will work with other members of the Resuscitation and Simulation Department to support the wider resuscitation team and the range of services it provides across multiple sites.
You will mainly be responsible for delivering resuscitation training at all levels to Trust staff and some external candidates. You will also participate in the collection & collation of data for national & local audits, presenting this information as required at the appropriate forums. In addition, you will be required to participate in the cardiac arrest/emergency team response when available, providing clinical expertise, support & being an expert resource.
There will also opportunities to develop personally and professionally within the team, you will be supported to develop as an instructor with a variety of learning opportunities in resuscitation practice & education.
