Summary

Job Description: Domestic Cleaner

Key Accountabilities:

Provide a domestic cleaning service to patients and staff within the Trust, adhering to the defined Service Level Specifications and Standard Operating Procedures.
Clean to a hygienic standard, following work procedures that align with all quality and environmental standards as specified by the client.
Perform cleaning tasks such as floors, work surfaces, furnishings, and related equipment manually and through the use of appropriate machinery, while adhering to work schedules and Standard Operating Procedures.
Empty, dispose of, and replace clinical and domestic waste as instructed, ensuring correct disposal processes are followed.
Maintain cleaning equipment and materials in a hygienic and safe condition, reporting any discrepancies in stock levels or equipment suitability to the appropriate team member for action.

Uphold high personal hygiene and infection control standards while performing tasks.
Ensure all work complies with Health and Safety policies, Quality standards, and procedures outlined by the Trust.
Actively participate as a member of the team, which includes supporting and training other staff, attending team meetings, and working flexibly to cover colleagues in any area of the hospital as required.
Undertake other duties as assigned by the manager within the scope of skills and capabilities.
Essential Technical and Professional Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications:


General cleaning skills, including the operation of machinery and lifting water-filled buckets.
Completion of relevant basic skills training.
Full understanding of Trust work practices, procedures, and Health and Safety requirements.
Strong communication skills for effective interaction with colleagues, supervisors, Trust staff, and patients.
Excellent customer care skills to support positive interactions with staff and patients.
Completion of mandatory training, including manual handling, risk assessment, and fire safety.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the team and Trust.
