Role Overview

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Food Service Assistant to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. This pivotal role supports the smooth delivery of meal services, contributing directly to the wellbeing and satisfaction of our residents. Your dedication will help ensure that nutritious, appetising meals are served in a timely and friendly manner.

Key Responsibilities


Assist with the preparation and serving of meals and refreshments to residents, ensuring dietary requirements and preferences are met.
Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in dining areas and kitchen spaces, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Support the catering team in daily food service operations including setting up dining rooms and clearing away after meals.
Engage with residents in a friendly and respectful manner to enhance their dining experience.
Report any concerns regarding food quality, equipment, or resident welfare to the appropriate staff members promptly.
Assist with stock rotation and storage to minimise waste and maintain freshness.
Work collaboratively with care and catering staff to ensure smooth service delivery.


Qualifications & Skills


Previous experience in a catering, food service, or care environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety principles.
Ability to follow instructions carefully and work as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner.
Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
A genuine interest in supporting the wellbeing of older adults and vulnerable individuals.
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends and public holidays.
