As a Food ServiceAssistant at Sodexo in Ipswich Hospital, you’ll play an important part inpreparing and serving nutritious, comforting meals that support patientrecovery and wellbeing. You’ll also helpmaintain a clean, safe environment in the kitchen and dining areas.With a cheerfulattitude and great customer service, your presence can make a real differencein someone’s day. What you’ll do:
- Assist with the preparation, assembly, and safe, hygienic production of all patient food and refreshments.
- Accurately take and record patient orders, including allergies and special dietary requirements, and communicate these to the main kitchen.
- Assemble, transport, and deliver patient meal trays to bedsides in a timely manner, ensuring comfort and assistance as needed.
- Work closely with ward teams to provide a high-quality, courteous, and professional food service for all meals and refreshments.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, infection control, and hygiene in ward kitchens, equipment, crockery, and utensils.
- Monitor food wastage, manage stock control and rotation, and use resources efficiently to minimise waste.
- Complete all required documentation, audits, quality standards, and report delays, equipment faults, or issues promptly.
- Present a positive, professional image by communicating politely, following policies and procedures, and carrying out duties safely and effectively.

- Level 2 Food Hygiene
