Summary
The post holder will be part of the North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust Respiratory Physiotherapy Service providing high quality care to patients in the Hospital or in the community The post holder will work as part of an integrated team to deliver advanced assessment and treatment of patients within the speciality who may have acute, complex and/or chronic conditions. The post holder will plan, deliver and evaluate physiotherapy intervention in partnership with health and social care colleagues and together deliver and evaluate all elements of care delivery The post holder will work under the supervision and mentorship of a Band 7 Respiratory Physiotherapist who will be primarily responsible for day to day operational issues and will also take the lead clinical role in respect of service and staff development The post holder will be required to deputise for the Band 7 Lead and will be responsible for the management of Band 5 Physiotherapists / Occupational Therapists / therapy assistants / apprentices and students. It will be expected that the post holder will take a lead in developing excellence in the provision of Evidence Based Therapies / Interventions to people requiring Physiotherapy Intervention. This will include the development of Rehabilitation after Critical Illness services The post holder will be expected to maintain a flexible approach to their work and will be expected to explore new ways of working in line with the ambition of the NHS long term plan. To be an active member of the evening and weekend respiratory physiotherapy on-call service if competent and required to do so. To participate in seven day and / or extended hours working.
