Summary
Provision of general practice nursing services, care and advice in accordance with clinical based evidence, NICE and local guidelines including, but not limited to: Chronic disease management including diabetes and asthma Cervical screening Wound management including dressings Child and adult immunisations Well woman and well man clinics Travel vaccinations Health screening and health promotion Child health/child protection ECGs, spirometry, requesting blood tests, venepuncture Medication review to enhance patient compliance Infection control Chaperoning and assisting patients and tidiness of nurses rooms Attend and participate in clinical and practice meetings when required Proactive in identifying own needs for personal and professional development Ensure all duties are carried out to the highest possible standard and in accordance with any current legislation or policies Support practice management team in the review and delivery of clinical policies and procedures Provide patient care in accordance with current PGDs and clinical protocols Refer as appropriate to GP, clinical pharmacist, social prescriber link worker and other colleagues Check and maintain emergency drugs and equipment Manage cold chain and daily fridge checks Participate in ordering and stock control of medication, vaccines and drug supplies
