Summary
Job Summary
We are seeking a Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Bury nursery. The ideal candidate will have a passion for childcare, strong leadership skills, excellent communication, drive, commitment, excellent customer service and the ability to manage a team effectively.
Key Responsibilities
· To manage the provision of the setting ensuring that children, parents and the staff team work together to provide high quality childcare.
· To be responsible for the management of day-to-day financial operations within the setting, by meeting financial targets and managing the occupancy ensuring maximum capacity.
· To manage a staff team effectively.
· To agree and set setting goals and monitor the achievement of progress against targets.
· To monitor and assess the quality of provision ensuring that policies and procedures, best practice and standards are maintained.
Operational Responsibilities
· To be responsible for the day-to-day running of the setting, ensuring compliance with registration and legislative requirements at all times.
· To ensure sound knowledge of the requirements set by Ofsted ensuring that the setting conforms to and exceeds them.
· To ensure that the setting consistently meets the requirements set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage to a minimum good standard.
· To uphold and ensure a high standard of care throughout the setting.
· To implement and maintain the company’s Equality and Inclusion policy ensuring that children, parents and the staff team are valued, and practice is positive and non-discriminatory.
· To monitor any safeguarding issues following local authority and company procedures.
· To give daily feedback to your allocated member of the senior leadership team about the setting including any complaints received or any situation that may be detrimental to the company.
· Notify your allocated member of the senior leadership team of any complaints received or any situation that may be detrimental to the company, agree actions to resolve issues and implement accordingly.
· Prepare the setting for Ofsted inspections and action any recommendations made by the inspector ensuring a minimum good grade is awarded.
Experience
- 5 years experience in childcare or early childhood education is essential
- 2 years experience in a managerial role in childcare or early years education essential
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- A recognised qualification in Early Childhood Education
