Summary
Clinical ResponsibilitiesPatient consultations across modalities: Deliver facetoface, telephone, and digital consultations for acute, chronic, and preventative care. Comprehensive historytaking and examinations: Obtain detailed medical histories and perform appropriate physical assessments. Clinical reasoning and management planning: Formulate differential diagnoses and develop management plans under GP supervision. Longterm condition management: Support ongoing care in line with local and national clinical guidelines. Investigations and followup: Request, interpret, and act upon investigations within scope of practice. Safetynetting and referrals: Provide followup care, ensure robust safetynetting, and arrange onward referrals when appropriate. Health promotion and preventative care: Contribute to screening, vaccination, and healthpromotion initiatives. Clinical documentation: Record consultations accurately and promptly in the clinical system (e.g., EMIS). Team collaboration: Participate in clinical meetings, MDT discussions, and practice meetings. Escalation of complex cases: Identify and escalate highrisk or complex presentations to supervising GPs. Research Responsibilities (Primary Care Focus) Support delivery of research studies: Assist in the implementation of primary care research projects within the practice. Patient identification and screening: Identify eligible patients during routine clinics and support screening processes. Recruitment and informed consent: Approach patients, discuss study participation, and support informed consent procedures. Research appointments and followups: Conduct delegated researchrelated visits and followup assessments. Data collection and entry: Collect, record, and maintain accurate research data in accordance with study protocols. Study documentation and governance: Maintain essential documentation and ensure compliance with ethical and governance standards. Good Clinical Practice compliance: Adhere to GCP principles and data protection regulations. Collaboration with research teams: Liaise with GP investigators, research nurses, and external research partners.
