Summary
Neway International are seeking an ARC Senior Support Worker to join our client based with Cardiff Council.
Location: County Hall
Hours: 37 hours per week (09:00–17:00)
Start Date: 12 January 2026
End Date: 13 April 2026
Employment Type: Temporary
Work Pattern: Flexible, including evenings and weekends

About the Client
Cardiff Council, in partnership with the Vale of Glamorgan Council, is expanding its Adolescent Resource Centre (ARC) into a Regional Edge of Care Service. The service supports young people aged 11–17 and their families through intensive, therapeutic, and strengths‑based interventions designed to prevent family breakdown and help young people remain safely at home.
The Role
The ARC Senior Support Worker will play a key role within the Regional Edge of Care Service, delivering flexible and responsive support to young people and their families. You will provide structured, evidence‑based interventions across community settings, family homes, and ARC centres. The role requires creativity, resilience, and the ability to respond rapidly to crisis situations, supporting families to overcome challenges and achieve sustainable positive change.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver intensive, strengths‑based interventions to young people and families across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.
Provide respite, outreach, family support, and crisis response as part of a flexible care package.
Support families to develop problem‑solving skills, resilience, and improved relationships.
Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver positive outcomes.
Engage young people in community, home, and centre‑based sessions.
Contribute to rapid response work to prevent escalation and family breakdown.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning and review processes.
Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and follow all relevant policies and procedures.
Candidate Requirements
Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent (e.g., teaching, nursing, youth work).
Experience working with adolescents and families during times of need.
Supervisory or mentoring experience (essential).
Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
Creative, person‑centred, and strengths‑based approach to practice.
Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships.
Ability to work effectively as part of a supportive, experienced team.
